No. In Manychat, WhatsApp runs on Meta's official API, the WhatsApp Business Platform. I connect your account, your number and Manychat, and design the flows that run on that connection.
A number in use on the WhatsApp app can only be registered on the API after it is deleted from that account. Once registered, the number still works for calls and SMS, but stops working on the WhatsApp app. If you need the app on the same number, the alternative is a new number for the API.
The number must be yours, include the country code and be able to receive a voice call or SMS for verification. Meta recommends mobile numbers. Short codes are not accepted.
The flows are designed to follow Meta's rules, to avoid channel suspensions or blocks. Rodrigo has been an official Manychat moderator since 2024.
